General Rule of Thumb
Set the volume on your NEOOS® device so that in complete silence (e.g., alone in a quiet room), you can still perceive a very faint auditory impression.
-
If you don't notice anything at first, try bringing your ear close to the vibration transducers.
-
Keep in mind: it may take a few minutes for full skin contact to be established.
-
Once you're in an environment with background noise or a phone call, your perception shifts to the subconscious level.
🌙 Using the NEOOS® at night
-
Reduce the sound pressure (volume) to the point where nothing is audibly noticeable through your ears.
-
Optional tip: Wear the vibration transmitters on your ankle – this reduces skin/bone conduction so much that you're unlikely to hear anything consciously, even when awake.
The individual volume controls for the two players and the pink noise function allow you to adjust the balance between content streams.
Example:
If you're focusing on language training (Player 2) and want the pre-installed natural sound with harmonizing tone G (Player 1) to play quietly in the background:
-
Set Player 2 louder than Player 1 for better focus on the speech content.
✅ Recommended Settings
Element | Suggested Volume Level |
---|---|
Player 1 & 2 | ~70% (±10–20%) |
Pink Noise | 50–90% |
Overall Volume | 10–40% |
These levels are typically sufficient for effective transmission. Even a small amount of sound pressure is enough for the NEOOS® system to work successfully.
Higher volumes are possible and may lead to conscious auditory perception, which many users find very pleasant.
