The decoding method was first published in 1848 by Dr. Heinrich Schliemann and later popularized in the 1980s by Vera F. Birkenbihl.
Decoding is a word-for-word translation.
The goal is not to create a smooth or fluent translation into your native language. Instead, each word in the target language is translated individually and consistently—always using the same meaning—so you can directly understand the structure of the new language.
Each word in the decoding appears directly beneath the original word in the sentence.
FNPLY® German
The English decoding of FNPLY® helps you dive directly into the structure of the English language. It’s a word-for-word translation that keeps the original German punctuation intact.
We also stick to the German grammar rules in the decoding.
To help you recognize gender quickly and unconsciously, we use the following color code:
-
Masculine words in German appear in blue.
-
Feminine words in German appear in pink.
- Neuter words in German appear in green.
